1. Camden High Street

One of the best ways to start a day in Camden Town is to get acquainted with the area by walking up and down Camden High Street.

Camden’s High Street has markets, shops, pubs, restaurants, and music venues. Take your time and soak in the atmosphere of this unique area in London. The street can get pretty crowded, but the crowds add to the overall experience.

2. Camden Street Art

If street art is your thing, then you are in luck while in Camden Town. Camden has some of London’s best street murals. While walking around the area, you will inevitably stumble upon some really cool artwork, so keep your eyes peeled.

This gorgeous jungle mural is on the side of Bucks Head Pub, right off Camden’s High Street.

Camden Street Art tours are also available if you really want to dive into the street art scene.

3. Camden Lock

Make sure to take some photos under the Camden Lock Bridge. You will find it at the entrance to the Camden Lock Market.

Camden Lock is a part of Camden where you will find a twin lock. If you are unfamiliar with locks like I was, they are devices that raise and lower boats. These devices help the watercraft to be able to travel down canals when the water levels are different.

Hopefully, during your visit to Camden, you will be able to see the lock in action. When we were there, a houseboat used the Hampstead Road Lock No 1 to enter the canal. It was interesting to watch the houseboat owners manually operate the lock.

4. Camden Market Food Stalls

Camden Market has tons of food stalls, so come to the market hungry. With the variety of food, there is sure to be something that will appeal to everyone.

When we visited the Mac Factory got our attention. We were in the mood for comfort food, and what better comfort food than mac-n-cheese.

Each order comes with two large tacos. The tacos cost £8.50.
